Bally (1994 DMD) Shadow Pinball
Bally (Williams / Midway) created this unintended sleeper in 1994. Most refer to this game as “Williams’ other Twilight Zone” – which is the highest compliment and reference that can be made to a pinball machine.
The Shadow is designed by Brian Eddy – who really has only designed a few products, but are coveted by collectors world wide (Attack From Mars, Black Rose, Funhouse, Indiana Jones, Medieval Madness, Bride of Pinbot and The Shadow). Each of these limited run machines have hit (or are aiming to be) in the top 20 pinball machines of all time – which commands an average street price of $5,000 – $12,000 ! We truly believe the Shadow is heading there very soon as it incorporates items that no other pinball machine has.
Many times, movie theme licensed products tend to suffer from getting complete acceptance by the pinball community for one reason or another. Many times, it is because so much of the production budget went into licensing, that the machine suffered from cost reduction issues. This machine however was not hampered by budget issues per-se, but by the unloved back glass art design. However, the collector community keeps coming back to this machine so often because of it’s deep rule set and fantastic play, regardless of Alex Baldwin’s image on the backglass. The pinball restoration community has even gone to the efforts of creating new backglass artwork for those who just cannot live without this machine, but are too stubborn to view his image (which by the way is not offensive in any way, unless you of course don’t like his movies or TV shows).
Game Play and Design
Many machines suffer from repetitive shots, or even similar shots borrowed from other machine designs. The Shadow has 10 unique shots (not including targets, upper playfield and mode play). This game has so many game modes and point methods that the Professional and Amateur Pinball Association went on to create a tutorial to help you better understand the machine.
Unique features:
- Two user controlled diverters via extra flipper buttons
- Magnetic ball lock and throw method for storing balls in the upper lock loop. This awesome feature was instantly copied by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not machine by Stern years later.
- Upper playfield (The battlefield) which is a real-life breakout machine. This is so addictive and fast!
- Ring lighting for each completed diverter shot.
- Art-deco artwork and design. Very well done.
- Great use of colors all over the playfield
- Sounds are superb. One of the few pinball machines that you prefer to play loud as the sounds and voices are of excellent quality
Custom Restoration
This machine went though a very extensive restoration process. It was missing many pieces and quite a few were broken from heavy use. However, the playfield and cabinet were excellent. As well, these machines are known to suffer from broken welds (under the Battlefield on the motor slide mount and both Phurba diverter assemblies. Lastly, the upper lock loop (The Sanctum) always wears down through the wood, this machine was no different.
Our extensive restoration on this machine literally took over a month:
- Every board removed, inspected, resoldered, parts replaced, and tested
- Burned wiring harness replaced
- New DMD display !
- Battlefield completely disassembled – every part. Cleaned, re-welded, replaced parts, upgraded gear assembly, deep polished, and LEDs installed. Wood mounting panel sanded down and repainted.
- New battlefield kicker assembly.
- Wire form ramps removed, de-scaled and made CHROME to better match the rest of the machine. We just didnt feel gold ramps fit well here when everything else is chrome and stainless steel.
- New diverter mechanisms and entire push-pull solenoid system rebuilt (for both upper and lower diverters).
- Replacement diverter Phurba knife located (from DENMARK) at over $100. This machine is so desired, even unique used parts are next to impossible to find. We did it all !
- Sanctum magnet ball damage fully repaired, sealed, re-stickered and covered with additional stealth mylar.
- Many optic switches replaced with new units.
- Many new targets.
- Entire playfield stripped down to the surface, polished and waxed.
- New flippers and entire mechanisms, linkages, contacts etc.
- New star posts thoughout.
- New stainless steel posts
- New Sanctum wall drop target
- New Rubber
- New balls
- Replaced amber flash lamp housings with CLEAR, and used custom GREEN, BLUE and AMBER LED flash lamps inside. This makes for surprising and effective lighting, as well as uses more of the colors of the playfield. Traditionally, this machine used way too many amber lights.
- All new RING lamps (rice grain size lamps).
- New flipper buttons (4)
- New chrome legs and hardware
- New color matched cabinet leg protectors
- Rebuilt coin door and professionally finished. New lock
- Custom color matched LEDs and flash bulb LEDs through out the entire game.
- Cabinet polished and touched up (not much needed). NO FADE on either side! Amazing!
- Cabinet inside repainted and playfield back panel repainted
- Head touched up and inside repainted
- New head lock assembly

Bally (1997 DMD) Champion Pub Pinball
This Just In 11/09/2012…
One of the rarest pinball machines in modern pinball is the Champion Pub. Made by Bally / Williams in 1997, this machine was on a very short run before the company closed it’s doors for good. As you may know, some modern Bally / Williams pinball machines are fetching over $10,000 now due to their unique game play and design perfection.
However, none of those games are as rare as the Champion Pub. Only 1,369 machines were ever made world-wide and WE have one.
This machine is currently going through a minor restoration – however it was already in fantastic condition to start. Pictures and detailed information coming soon. Call or email to inquire. This machine will not last and may likely be the last one we ever see.

Judge Dredd (Bally 1993 Widebody) Pinball
Judge Dredd (based off the long time cartoon and then movie release) is one of only 7 Superpins ever made from the Bally/Williams company.
This particular machine comes to us in the best original condition imaginable. Usually a pinball machine that is 20+ years old is expected to be pretty warn and faded. This machine is the exception!
Planned Upgrades:
- Deadworld modification – The spinning planet used to store multiballs was modified right before production to limit it’s functionality. We are going to put it back to pre-production functionality so this machine becomes even more awesome
- Full LED conversion.
- Color matched legs and hardware
- Entire machine will be torn down and rebuilt. Our standard process
- All boards will be rebuilt
- Under cabinet LED lighting effects
- Topper modifiction for even more lighting effects
Actual pictures coming soon…
Junkyard (Williams 1996) Pinball – Home Use Only
This machine is a Home Use Only (HUO) – which means it was purchased new and placed in someone’s home – never to be seen until now. This means it has very low hours of use, very little play and about as new condition that can be found. This machine is un-restored, but recently upgraded with LED lighting. Additionally, the balls have been replaced (due to age) and all the rubbers have been replaced (again due to age). Other than that, this machine is virtually perfect – and we RARELY ever see HUO machines.
Only 3013 units ever created, and the one of the last pinball machines ever to roll off Bally/Williams/Midway production lines before they closed their doors for good. What a way to capture an essentially new machine from the best pinball makers in the world – ever.
Call or email for videos or more pictures.

Mata Hari (Bally 1978) Pinball
Ok, so what’s the deal with the early Bally solid state games lately? Well, we just could not resist. Mata Hari just is an amazing piece of functional furniture that captures the era perfectly, and this machine is just ripe for a high end restoration.
As taken from ipdb.org: “Margaretha Zelle (1876-1917) was born in the Netherlands and established herself as a successful exotic dancer, traveling all over Europe under the name Mata Hari. During WWI she consorted with high-ranking officers, both German and French, which ultimately led to her being executed as a spy.”
This machine has the limited run backglass with the dagger inscription – in mint condition.
This machine also is the solid state version with the chime bar sounds… for the best of both worlds. Get the classic sounds with the reliability of solid state electronics.
Planned restoration:
- New playfield restoration with all new topside parts
- Fully restored cabinet with hand painted artwork
- New coin door and shooter hardware
- New chrome legs
- LED conversion for long lasting – cool operation.
- New circuit boards.
This high end restoration will be a fraction of the cost that our competitors charge.
Call or email to inquire. Pictures and updates to continue through Nov 2012
No Good Gophers (Williams 1997 DMD) Pinball
If you like (love) Golf, Pinball and the movie Caddy Shack, then you need to own a No Good Gophers machine. Even though this machine was never officially tied to the movie, there is no doubt a connection. This machine is fun, funny and exciting.
Unique features:
- Gophers pop out of the playfield and taunt you. You need to hit them to disappear and behind them are the ramps and entrances to other areas.
- Slam Ramp Jump – when enabled, the ramp comes down and you can launch your ball up to the hole… if you are lucky you will get a hole-in-one.
This game is designed by the legendary Pat Lawlor – and his machines never disappoint!
Limited production to 2711 machines made world wide! So this is a pretty rare machine to own!
Planned Upgrades
- Full tear down and rebuild
- Full LED conversion
- Under cabinet LED lighting effects
- New legs and hardware
Ripley’s Believe it or Not (Stern 2004 DMD) Pinball
Ripley’s (RBION) is one of my most favorite machines designed by the legendary Pat Lawlor (and artwork by John Youssi). This machine has ALWAYS been said to be the Twilight Zone of pinball made by STERN – and I could not agree more. You may not even understand the game for a month before it really starts making sense. It is one of the most rewarding games to play well and keeps you coming back to play time and time again.
This particular machine is in fantastic original condition. Just a minor scuff on the side of the backbox, but otherwise all original. The playfield has no wear and all original, unbroken plastic.
The entire machine has been stripped, waxed and detailed. Followed up by new rubber, balls and a full custom LED replacement. We’ve done some creative work with the lighting as well.
The backbox fluorescent bulb has been replaced by custom LED lighting that slowly changes over time.
As well, the under cabinet LEDs are synchronized to the effects on the playfield for very dramatic play.

Sega (1999) F355 Ferrari Challenge Arcade – Twin Racing Simulator
SALE PRICED TO MOVE
The grand daddy of them all : Ferrari F355 Challenge racing simulator – now at 50% off ! The lowest price for this machine in the country!
This machine was designed from the ground up a simulator by the designer who himself is a Ferrari enthusiast. This machine is vastly different from all other driving machines as it was intended to be a real-life simulator, without exaggerated physics. You could actually learn how to drive with this machine, and without a doubt, would make teens better at the wheel of a car.
Also, this machine is fun, which is the best part. Since we all don’t have ready access to cars which cost $250k, this is the next best thing. With this machine, you and a friend can race side-by-side on real life tracks. Use automatic or paddle shifting, and even adjust the ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control, and Intelligent Brake System. System has force feedback steering, stereo sound with subwoofer and full size 29″ monitors.
Additionally, both machines are topped with a huge Ferrari F355 challenge header, which by far is the coolest thing I’ve seen on an arcade.
This machine cost close to $20,000 new and is still selling for over $7k. We’re pricing this machine to move quickly. Put this in your home and you’ll have friends young and old want to play it. Put this in your restaurant or bar and people will drive across town. Because of the low production numbers and Ferrari collectors keeping them in their man-caves, you will not likely find one in public, especially at this price.
Features:
- TWO separate driving simulators. Drive separately or linked to drive against each other
- 29″ full size monitors
- Full size sit down, like a car. Adjustable seat
- Paddle or automatic shifting
- ABS, Traction Control, Stability Control, and Intelligent Brake System selective controls
- Multiple real life tracks
- Training, Practice and Race modes
- Stereo sound with subwoofer in each car
- Full size lit topper spans entire machine
- Machine separates into 3 parts for easier moving. Simulators are on wheels for moving
- Coin or free play centralized between machines.
- Can separate machines. They will play on their own.
- Force feedback steering
- The most authentic driving simulator created for the arcade. Drive a real Ferrari F355 !
Note: This is an oversized item and shipping will be more than a standard arcade. We will work with you, call us. Also, at this price, it’s worth driving to pick up!
Pictures and video coming soon. Note, current pictures are for reference only and are not the actual machine
Sega / Stern (1995 Ultra DMD) Frankenstein Pinball
Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. Created by Sega (also known as Stern during this transition).
Only 3000 of these machines were produced world wide.
This machine also has a unique OVERSIZED digital matrix display. Normal DMD displays are 128×32. This one is 192×64 which allows for better graphics and animations. And since this essentially a new machine, this display runs perfect and will not need to be replaced.
This machine is HOME USE ONLY. Which is a rare find. This means the machine has never been in public use and was purchased for the home when new. That means it has very low plays and is essentially a [10/10] in condition and quality. You will know it is effectively new as soon as you see it.
We will also be updating this machine to current standards to make it even better (if that’s possible):
- Replace all rubber
- Detail and wax
- Add leg/cabinet protectors (increases the life of the machine)
- Add button protectors (increases the life of the machine)
- Replace all incandescent bulbs with color LEDs
- Replace all flash bulbs with high energy LEDs
- Replace all balls
- Under cabinet LED flash effects. Dramatically enhances game play
Check back soon for pictures and video – or call/email to reserve before it’s gone. This machine will be ready for pickup/delivery in 5-7 business days.

The Machine Bride of Pinbot (Williams 1991) Pinball
The Bride of pinbot (BOP) is a unique machine in all of pinball. This is the second in the Pinbot series, and arguably the best one of the group. Only 8100 units were ever created.
This is the only pinball machine that shares the same circuitry as the legendary Williams Funhouse, and if you haven’t noticed, Funhouse has exploded in value by almost 2x in the last year. We expect the unique nature of this game and lineage to follow the same value trend.
Bride of Pinbot shares much of it’s playfield similarities with Pinbot and Jackbot, where the right side contains the skill shot. They also share the concept of a translucent mini pachinko style upper playfield on top of the 3 pop bumpers. The rest is all unique to the BOP.
The main playfield toy takes up a good portion of the back of the game: the 4 faces of the Bride of Pinbot. This object is a large spinning cube that also doubles as a mini playfield used to lock balls and show the state of metamorphosis. The object of the game is to guide the Bride through her multiple stages in becoming human, to the dismay of her husband Pinbot. Only videos can truly show what this is all about. Add to this one excellent techno-inspired sound track and light show. The special backglass is created to show lightshow animations as well as point values.
This game is fun and tough because of it’s quick ramps and short playfield area in front of the flippers . Nothing like this game will ever be reproduced again.
Restoration
This machine has gone through it’s own metamorphosis:
- Fully restored cabinet and back box – repaired and all new artwork. Looks like new!
- New coin door and lock.
- All new playfield plastic ramps
- All new chrome Bride helmet
- All new pop bumper assemblies
- 2nd playfield flame polished

- Spinning head fully disassembled, cleaned and re-adjusted for perfect play and alignment.

- New chrome legs with matching leg cabinet protectors round out a fantastic visual appearance.

Future Events
Bride of Pinbot is so sought after world wide that many organizations are still releasing upgrades to this machine – after 21 years.
- New playfield. An American company is planning on reproducing this playfield soon. This would require all parts to be transferred to the new playfield and effectively making this machine brand new all over again.
- DMD update. A company is Europe is transferring the display code and game code to support the dot matrix display. This is possible because the Bride of Pinbot actually uses the WPC board set, which is the system that Williams used in all DMD pinball machines. Hopefully this will be polished soon and we can make this option available for sale in the US in 2013.
Williams (1995) Road Show Pinball
If you know anything about pinball, you’ve heard of Williams Funhouse. The one with the talking dummy head in the middle of the playfield?
Well, the designer (Pat Lawlor) of Funhouse was given full run of the shop and came out with it’s sequel: Road Show.
Road Show has TWO talking dummies on the playfield, both of which talk smack to each other and to you. They are fully animated and watch the ball as it travels inside the game. They also can swallow and spit up the ball and are integral parts of the game.
Roadshow is also one of the few wide-body machines ever made by Williams in the 90’s, which allows for more room to put just about everything the designer could think of from all his past successes into this machine. The result is one of the craziest and complicated machines ever made. We also own one in our game demo room – which we refuse to sell. Thankfully, we have another!
Restoration will include:
- Full tear down, clean and polish
- Replacement of all standoff plastic
- Replacement of all available broken specialty plastics
- Full conversion to LED lighting
- Full repair of all circuit boards back to factory condition
- Under cabinet custom LED flash effects (Castle Classic Arcade exclusive)
Available late Feb 2014. Contact us to reserve this machine before it’s gone…
